These new style inverters can take in a variety of power inputs, with some accepting multi inputs, i.e. three phase AC variable voltage and frequency from wind turbine alternators, hydro power, solar panels and gensets or AC mains as power.

They charge batteries and generate pure sinewaves with large surge ability.

Some can even sync with AC Mains and supply power back to the grid.

Many have settings for Green Power or Load Sensing, so as not to waste power when there is no output load.
