New Technology Discussion:Artesyn = Power Supplies :
Need AC to DC power supply? Artesyn have a great website to look over. Also talk to rob.maskell@mastec.co.nz about Power Supplies, UPSs, Inverters, Batteries and Chargers
Eagle Technology = USB or Serial Thermocouple DAQ boxes
Thermocouples are still the most popular temperature measurement transducer. Eagle technology know this, and have now released a new range of low cost USB or Serial connected Boxes that can do 8, 16 or 32 channels at 14 bit resolution. Talk about easy and low cost, they are self powered off the USB cable, they talk to labVIEW, C++, VB and more.Talk to adam.samir@mastec.co.nz about M2M
Maestro GSM Modems = GSM with RS-232 or TCP
We want everyone to see these products. We are just going for A-Tick approval for Australia, it is a formality really, as these Maestro GSM modems are GSM world body and CE certified already. For your convenience, we have put all the information in one location for you to read. We will be putting a lot more info on this down load page.Talk to graham.carter@mastec.co.nz about M2M and GSM
Measurement Computing = NI Equivalent 6000 series DAQ boards
Measurement Computing is now making the full range of National Instruments low cost PCI 6000 series DAQ cards at an even lower price and with a life time warranty rather than just one year like NI.Talk to adam.samir@mastec.co.nz about 6000 series DAQ
INFRA SRL = Photoelectric, Inductive and Magnetic Sensors
Infra of Italy is an OEM manufacturer that makes badged products for most of the large sensor supply houses in the world. We are now supplying right from the horses mouth so to speak, so ask us for a quote on your sensor needs and save your money.Talk to rob.maskell@mastec.co.nz about Infra
FF-Automation = PLCs with GSM connectionThis is the way forward for difficult tor each PLCs. Actually it could be called an RTU also. How about commissioning your PLCs very quickly and with low cost. No cables back to the SCADA, just GSM any exception information back.
Talk to adam.samir@mastec.co.nz about Jumo
Nokia = Model 12 Java M2M GSM GPRS Modem with GPS and many I/O pointsThis is a preview of Nokia's next M2M Module. This tiny module, see the picture on the web, has a Java prgrammable engine, a GPS input, 3 serial ports, 8 digital outputs and 9 digital or analog inputs plus of course a dual band GSM system with 5 bearer levels, awesome does not cover it. This is an industrial PC, a GSM phone, a PLC and a logger, alarm, SMS, FTP, Email and web server all in one.
MasTec = Imaging.
Adept Electronic Solutions in Australia ha just entered into an agreement to supply MasTec with their complete imaging range.

Enzymes:- There is no life without enzymes, just like vitamins and essential fatty acids and a few other bits and pieces here and there.
But enzymes are something that are not discussed very often and people just assume they are there doing there thing or maybe some people are oblivious to them or don't even care.
All raw food have enough enzymes in them that can start and usually complete the break down of this food and turn it back to original or similar components.
However, here is the catch with humans versus animals, we cook our food and there are no enzymes in cooked food, oops.
There have been several studies on this over the years and the most famous now is the 1940-50s cat study in California. Several groups of cats were given different types of food, but only one group was feed non cooked food. The stats were outstanding. All the non cooked food cats lived long lives, were happy and were very fertile. All the other groups slowly deteriorated, getting degenerative dis-ease, lost fertility and general unhappiness. One group after three generations was unable to breed, with zero fertility. Amazing results.
So how are we managing to stay alive with cooked food, well maybe, some of us aren't doing very well. Think of the diet of some, all cooked food, no raw fruit, salads or veges? oops again.
The answer is so simple, let's not labour the point, eat raw food people, lots of it. The Japanese are right with raw fish, it is almost a religion, we are right with raw fruit, how about more raw veggies too, yuck, you mean celery and carrot sticks, yes. Stop boiling, frying, baking, steaming veges unless very quickly less than 5 minutes.
Start the day with fruit (enzymes), always, and leave 20-30 minutes before breakfast, for full digestion of the fruit.
Canned anything has no enzymes, just in case you were wondering, neither do homogenised anything and most things in cans or bottles are homogenised, like fruit juice etc, so be knowlegable and wise.
Just to give some ideas of what can happen with loss of enzymes. The process is slow, over many years, it starts with the ability to digest deteriorating in the stomach, small intestine, instead the digestion has to be completed in the blood stream when the immunity system is forced to come out and defend the body against invasion of partially digested food. The body uses white blood cells enzymes and other immunity systems enzymes to do this. Eventually these systems like the digestive systems eventually collapse in exhaustion also. Serious stuff starts after, however there will be ample warnings along the way, don't ignore these.
Another result of low enzyme intake is that it makes the pancreas work over time. The pancreas makes enzymes for digestion and as it has to make more enzymes than if we ate raw food, it can get bigger, it can eventually get exhausted also.
Another point to follow, is to mix the types of foods you eat each meal to give the sections of the pancreas a rest. Think, if you eat wheat 6 times a day you need wheat enzymes six times a day, this will exhaust that section of the enzyme making biochemistry in the pancreas.
Many people have noticed, when they go on holiday and eat raw fruit and veges all the time (the stove is usually turned off, who wants to cook) that everyone starts to feel so good and also look good. Also often we loose weight and we put it down to the extra exercise of laying on the beach or sleeping under a tree but it may just be the enzymes coming back. Love those enzymes.
Next month I would like to discuss a new book on "Spirituality" published by one of our nuclear physicists in New Zealand and acid alkaline balance in food, very important for full health.
