Discussion Area:
DAQ technology.
There is a shift taking place in the DAQ world market as companies like Eagle, MCC, LabJack and Superlogics deliver new technologies ( PCMCIA and USB mainly ) to offer lower cost solutions.
Notice the long list of companies for DAQ products MasTec distributes, we have just added one more www.Exacq.com
Talk to adam.samir@mastec.co.nz about DAQM2M
M2M GSM Nokia products continue to grow in sales. We are in the very early cycle of M2M, smart technology uptakers are entering the market and developing software for these GSM Nokia machine to machine modules. MasTec is developing new hardware products for M2M also and will have these available soon. MasTec also plans to become a general broker for other M2M product types. For example, we are at present negotiating for an M2M CDMA option. Expect a new M2M website soon, we are building www.M2MRUS.com

Jumo
They make fabulous auto tuning single and multi input output PID type controllers. If you use these types of controllers and want to compare performance and cost, email us.
Jumo also make large AC Power Thyristor Controllers, sizes up to 150 amps, single and three phase, with all sorts of nice features, like soft cycling, skipping cycles, 4-20ma or 0-10 volt control, all sorts of overload and safety built in.
Talk to rob.maskell@mastec.co.nz about Jumo
UPS
We now sell Power Kinetic (Blackout Busters and Redundant 9000 series), TrippLite (UPSs and Inverter Chargers), Powerware-Sola ( for larger lower cost single and three phase systems) and APC (for people who have and like APC).
We also re-battery UPSs, load test them and service all most all types.
Talk to saera.tui@mastec.co.nz about UPSs.
Projects
We have just been granted a large project for revamping a QA test lab in Auckland and several smaller factory test systems around NZ, for one of NZ's top billion $ companies. This revamp is a hardware upgrade, new computers, DAQ systems. These systems will collect data from multiple test machine/instruments, and send this data to a central point server for storage and IT backup management and then dish up t his data to intranet clients using XML and Java in multiple formats and template pictorial and graphical layouts.
Talk to rob.maskell@mastec.co.nz about Projects
Instruments
There is a change in this market also. Once dominated by Agilent and Fluke, newer entries like Texas, Protek, Global Specialities and GW Instek have a broader range and also much lower entry costs.
ICS have just released a new lower cost USB > GPIB controller that runs with NI driver software and LabVIEW.
Send your instrument list requirements to info@mastec.co.nz , we will come back with quotes and specs.
MasTec Re-focus:- You may have noticed over the last two years, MasTec has gradually changed it's focus. In the past we were Brand focused. We have shifted from this and are now technology focused, that is, what is the "best technology fit" for the project, not a particular brand. This has lead to greater success for us and you the end users, because we are able to supply better product and solutions that really meet your needs.
