2005 Year Introduction

Happy New Year Everyone.

It is summer here in New Zealand, at last, long days, sunsets at 9.30pm or later, it is beach time and fun in the sun, although we have had loads of rain until now but it is getting better.

To any readers in those countires hit with disasters, famine, wars etc, know that almost all minds worldwide are turned your way with genuine love and concern. Many are offering money to assist.

You will have noticed you did not receive this newsletter in its traditional form this time. We are now serving up a small mailer with links to the newsletter, it is safer and faster and also the SPAM engines can't get a signature off our mailers now.

Also, you did not get the Oct, Nov and Dec 2004 newsletters, so please download these for a read..

We have built our own emailer server. It is written in LabVIEW by Hitul Shah our Integration and project manager. If you need projects for 2005, talk to Hitul.

Michelle Soakell has left to go to big and better things. We will miss her incredible ability, and are now looking for a replacement, part timer as she was, a high school student with great web and computer skills. So if you are close to us and have a clever teenager looking for work, tell them to mail us.

Starting Jan 2005, the Sub-Headings in the newsletters will state type/functionality then the company name.

DSP Programmed with LV or VB from Sheldon
A very good article on Sheldon VB and LabVIEW programmed DSP and DAQ system from a Europena Mag.

Sheldon is about to release the first true silicon programmable LabVIEW/VB engine. Program in LV or VB and download via ethernet into this box with a 1800MFLOP DSP engine, huge memories, with up to 64 high speed analog in and 16 analog out, digital, USB, serial and more. This is real time LV or VB in its truest form, there is no OS in the way. Expect this Q1 2005.

Just a little more on this new product, we are using these in a project right now, they are cute, small foot print, very functional and easy to use and connect to and yes the digital inputs are isolated with bi-directional photo LED isolators making them polarity free or open, we needed that in our project.

We had a visit from this company in December and it is very focused, skilled and has the same NZ can do attitude as it is from a very small population stat Montana, miles from anywhere. We like there attitudes and have arranged to set up distribution in NZ, Australia, and South East Asia. So please do contact us about this product, it is very complete with a large expertise base behind it.

New Nokia 30 Backplane from SWS
Now build low cost M2M systems using the Nokia 30. Backplane Version 3 is now released, New Relays, DPDT with NO and NC, LED indicators on status etc. We are working on Version 4 also with Serial I/O both GSM and GPRS connection.

This project is running well and we expect to see something in Q2.
We are also developing another M2M product which will allow large channle counts for analog and digital ports
