This month we will discuss Array Inc, a company based in maniland China and also its sister company Picotest based in Taiwan. Both are high grade instrument manufacturers.

That is a very nice line up of product for test systems and we have several clients now using these products. Link this to our other instrument companies like Protek, Atten, Instek and Rogol and you have a complete instrument suite.

Array doesn't end here though.
Array is also involved in the industrial arena, with some very nice products that are mature now. Don't forget this and other chinese companies are supplying to the huge chinese automation market and have for several years, so the wrinkles have been taken out of these products.
Array's PLCs come in two series
- Generation 2 (FAB series)
12 inputs and 8 outputs very low current and cost PLCs
- Generation
3 (SR series)
The largest system of SR can be a host plus 5 expansion modules, I/O points up to 122 (74 input points, 48 output points).
Both series have:
- AC (100-240VAC) or DC (12-24VDC) Power Supplies
- PC Comms Interface either 232 with a Data bus of 485 for interconnecting PLCs.
- Digital Inputs either DC or AC or both DC/AC inputs
- Digital Outputs DC NPN and PNP sinking or AC/DC Relay to 10 Amps.
- Analog Inputs
are on the same Digital inputs and decided by the function block
call.
The analog inputs range is 0V ~ +10VDC. Resolution is 0.1V increments ( 1 part in a 100 or 1%). In programming, all the block parameters related to the analog inputs are based on the increment of 0.1V. - Detachable LCD Panle for dispaly of data and also programming and Keypads
- RTC 1 second resolution
- Both PLC series
have a telephone and voice function blocks.
It is possible to dial directly from the PLC using programmed telephone number or presets.
The PLC can dial when the program conditions are satisfied so as to implement advice or alarm functions. The PLC can also receive remote signals transmitted through a telephone line in order to be controlled. - PLCs control
functions can be controlled by wirelessly also.
Also using the voice module connected to the wireless module. This function can be used in some specific
control site, i.e to the start and stop an unattended PLC. - Both PLCs can
use voice recording and broadcasting back functions
creating intelligent controls, which need audible voice outputs, both locally and through remote speakers. - Program using
FBD-Function Block Diagram Programming
either using the PLC's LCD and Keypad or using the FAB Quick II Software on a PC. - SCADA Software is also available for PCs.
- Encrypted downloads of programs from PCs.
- Password protection

As a small Human-Machine Interface. - it is connected with a PLC or other intelligent controllers through the RS-232 COM port.
It can monitor, set, modify the data in the registers and the status of the relay inside the PLC.
Functions allow configuring of text, indicators, function keys, bar graphs and trend graphics elements etc.

We have been selling Powermaster for sometime now but only to select customers.
We feel their line of Green Power ( Load Sensing) Inverter chargers adn Inverters with solar and windmill options are the best price performance on the market at present.
These products have penetrated all world markets and have been rebadged and sold into Alternative Power Systems now for over several years.
MasTec and AC~DC Power have never had a range of load sensing Inverters before. This is a crucial design or feature that is required for remote power. They must turn off when there is a load and off again when no load. Idle wattage is very low, 1-2 watts approx.
