A short note on the ARRAY PLCs.
We ( and a few customers ) have been playing with the Array PLCs, the FAB and SR range. They can be programmed (virtual wires ) with an array of simple function blocks. There is a graphical simulator for program testing and timing etc and then you can commit your master piece to the PLC. There are many programming examples to download and play with and modify. Each PLC can have an a 4*16 LCD (with keys) display, either locally clipped on the front of the PLC or remotely from the PLC and for more advanced display the FABs allow the SH-300 graphical PLC -register based display - to be connected.The SR allows up to 82 I/O, including analog. The FAB and the SR can have telephone connection and voice alarms can be sent also, allowing data in the PLC to be changed remotely if required. Many PLCs can be netwoked together using RS-485 easily.

MasTec was originally approached to supply LED lighting to one of our New Zealand companies we have supplied with product for many years. At the time 2006, it wasn't easy to find a good supply. Now after researching and looking for about two years we have three excellent companies.
The first was the USA company LEDTronics, with a very long history of developing LED technology - since 1984. There product is excellent quality and will meet many needs of our customer base, supplying standard indoor lighting, marine, street, traffic control and many speciality lights.
Next was EP Solar which is an Alternative Energy company, supplying solar panels, solar chargers and solar street and sign lights.
The latest company is Stardust from China, which is a lamp manufactuer, all sorts of domestic and commercial fitting, indoor and outdoor and have recently developed with other technology companies a range of very good 85-270 VAC LED bulbs of all colours + Soft white + white.
Several of our customers have alrady asked about the Stardust lumens/watt claims on their white bulbs. We are getting certificates on these.
We expect this product range to take some time to make a significant mark in our product sales, but we in for the long haul with these as we know this is where lighting is going, unless a newer technology comes along and it doesn't look like it is.
