Hello to all our eNewsletter Readers in 28 Countries,
In NZ, most companies have just completed closing the books for the year 2010-2011 and are working out what to pay the IRD.
March is usually a quiet month, with April even quieter, when people see how much tax they have to pay the IRD. (smile)
We can report that MasTec has had a good year with double digit % growth again. This is our 4th year of double digit growth and we want to thank all our clients for working with us again this year.
2011-2012 already looks like more of the same as more companies get invloved in bigger roll outs of new product or services.
Our largest % of sales for the year came again from OEM supply to system/machine builders and integrators.
Our fastest growing product type is wireless and it will not be too long when it is our number one product type, we think 2012 is the year..
However traditional product types like Instruments, PAC, Industrial Computers, Embedded Micros, Sensors, Data Acquisition and Comms remains high.
Our AC and DC power sales were about the same as previous years but with more units sold. This tell us that this product type is becoming lower cost and main stream. Hence, if you look at our recent announcements from Gamatronic, Belotti, PowerVAR and Soltec, we are moving to more modern devices to remain strong in this area, like large Redundant UPSs, Frequency Converters, Medical Grade UPSs and large size Smart Power Conditioners etc.
In 2010-2011 we noticed the sales of PAC technology starting to increase. For the 2011-2012 year we see PAC ( Programmable Automation Controllers ) becoming one of the new growth product types, as companies realise or run into the limits of old technology or old systems with PLCs, DCS and RTU technology.
MasTec has a full compliment of PAC manufacturers, with the world leader OPTO 22 fronting the pack.

PAC = Programmable Automation Controller
If you are using PLCs, RTUs, DSCs, Industrial Computers, or discrete controllers or even Micro Computers for Industrial automation, please have a read of this info. You may want to use this PAC technology in a new project or retrofit an old system.
We are seriously impressed with OPTO 22's PAC systems both the Wired and Wireless PACs
Opto 22 This company is leading the world in PAC design and has the largest range of controllers and IO.
PAC = Programmable Automation Controllers -differ from the hardware you're probably using now in several ways.
PACs expand the capabilities of hardware you're using now by merging features of more traditional PLC , DCS (Distributed Control System), and RTU systems.
Plus adding some capabilities from Industrial PCs and/or personal computers (PC (personal computer).
As a summary, PACs now provide the multi-function, multi-domain, multi-tasking, modular, standards-based and efficient control, networking, and communications processor most suited to today's industrial applications.
If you need more education please look at these pages on the OPTO22 Site and come back and email or phone (09) 273 4200 to MasTec about your needs.
