MasTec has been working with Sealevel for many years.

Sealevel is a suberb company, with a very long history in the industry, having built the first RS-485 card for the IBM PC when it was released.

MasTec ships thousands of various Sealevel DAQ and Comms products.each year.

The failure rate of product supplied at this level of supply, is close to zero each year.

This means we recommend Sealevel highly, as a quality product builder.

Below are some products just released over the last few months. As you will see Sealevel is broad based, not just comm products, but HMI, Industrial Computers, I/O and Super Tough RISC Flash PAC both panel and embedded.

These New PACs can be Linux or CE powered and offer all the advantages of a PC platform , mixed with a Flash boot, fast recovery and tough with no moving part PACs for exacting industrial use. -broad temperature range also.

Sealevel is a well known name for Comms, DAQ and PAC Products - MasTec has sold them since 2002

 * Micronor - A absolute first - A fiber optic absolute position sensor

Micronor make a broad ranges of Absolute and Incremental electronic encoders -- plus fiber optic models

 * Array have just made some announcements about their T&M products.

Array is one China's leading T&M companies for international level Instruments

The SeaPAC R9-8.4 combines a powerful RISC-based Human-Machine Interface (HMI) with a bright 8.4” TFT LCD to create a wide-temperature, ruggedized, flat panel computer perfect for a variety of control and HMI applications. Featuring an industrial, LED backlight that gives the panel extended life over CCFT-backlit panels, the system offers an amazing -30° to +70°C operating temperature range with no heaters or cooling fans required.

Powered by a 200 MIPS ARM9 micro, the system is available with up to 256MB RAM (128MB standard) and 256MB Flash memory for maximum performance in embedded systems. Standard I/O includes Ethernet, serial, USB, CAN Bus, and digital interfaces. For intuitive operator input, the system includes a resistive touchscreen perfect for a wide variety of industrial environments and uses. The SeaPAC R9-8.4 is intended for panel mount applications and provides an aluminum front bezel that maintains NEMA 4/IP65 protection from sprayed liquids.

Local or remote I/O expansion is available using Sealevel SeaI/O modules. Choose from a variety of I/O configurations including optically isolated inputs, Reed and Form C relay outputs, TTL interfaces, A/D, and D/A. The SeaPAC R9-8.4 connects to SeaI/O modules via the system's RS-485 expansion port and communicates using Modbus RTU.

To provide the fastest time to market, the Windows CE 6.0 BSP binary and low-level drivers for system I/O are included. Additionally, the SeaPAC R9 software package is equipped with the Sealevel Talos I/O framework, which offers a high-level object-oriented .NET Compact Framework (CF) device interface. This interface provides an I/O point abstraction layer with built-in support for easily interfacing the system’s I/O. Linux support is also available.

The Sealevel 2107 provides a single port USB to RS-485 asynchronous serial port and versatile interface for common RS-485 applications. The adapter utilizes Sealevel's expertise in military-grade designs by incorporating a ruggedized, overmolded enclosure. This improves the reliability and durability in automation, factory floor, industrial and mobile RS-485 applications.

The 2107 supports 2-wire RS-485 networks and includes a removable terminal block adapter (Item# TB34) that simplifies field wiring. Thumbscrews on the TB34 secure the terminal block adapter to the serial port and prevent accidental disconnection.

The USB serial adapter features programmable baud rate and data formats with 128-byte transmit and 384-byte receive buffers. The adapter is compatible with all standard PC baud rates and supports high-speed communication to 921.6K bps. The 2107 is powered by the USB port and status LEDs molded into the enclosure indicate serial data activity and connection to the host.

Sealevel SeaCOM USB software drivers and utilities make installation and operation easy using Microsoft Windows and Linux operating systems. After installing the software, simply plug the 2107 into an available USB port and the serial port is recognized as a standard COM port by the host system enabling compatibility with legacy software.

The attached cable is approximately 44 inches long and fully shielded to protect the 2107 from RF and EMI interference that is common in mobile and industrial environments. The 2107 operates over an extended temperature range of -40 - +75C.

Do you know that adapter design can impact your application? Find out how in this USB Serial performance report.

The 2107 has a DB-9M connector and includes a removable terminal block. If you need a DB-25M connector, order the 2102.

Just a little reading on this new fiber optic absolute position sensor and more

In 2004, Micronor introduced the ZapFREE® MR310 series - the world’s first Incremental Fiber Optic Rotary Sensor. Customers kept asking for a complementary absolute encoder. The innovative R&D team accepted the challenge and spent the past five years researching new technologies and developed the MR330 ZapFree(tm) Fiber Optic Absolute Position Sensor.

MasTec now announces the availability of the world's first absolute fiber optic position sensor (FOPS)! All the advantages of fiber optics combined with a new and innovated optical design (patent pending). The MR330 ZapFREE(tm) Fiber Optic Absolute Position Sensor sets a performance standard that exceeds resolvers, RVDTs and most conventional electronic encoders:

• Absolute angular measurement from 0° to 360° + Multi-turn tracking

• High resolution: 13-bit (8192 counts)

• Multi-turn tracking to 12-bits (4096 turns)

• Immunity to EMI, RFI, lightning and ground loops

• Interference-free sensor transmission exceeding 300 meters

• Passive sensor meets ATEX requirements for use in hazardous locations

• Multiple built-in Interfaces available: SSI, USB, Serial, Modbus, analog and digital set points
