During September, MasTec realised another OEM supply account, indicating once again to us that innovation, hardwork and investment is being made in Oceania in the technical manufacturing sector with good results.
If you are involved in developing a dream product, stay focused on this dream and make it a reality. As a side point, do not listen to the stats the government or the economic people give on the economies performance. It is all just noise and a generalisation.
You are specific and focused and if your product is needed, it will fly and do well in the local and world markets.

Product and Manufacturer highlights for this month -- SSRs, Thyristors and IGBTs note SSR=solid state relays
SSR technologies are ubiquitous, that is used everywhere especially in products requiring very low maintenance such as air conditioning, refrigeration, air compressors, industrial fans, lighting, electric motor starters etc.
Thyristors and IGBTs are more specific and are used in controlling large energy systems, like ovens, furnances etc
When it comes to SSRs, MasTec is the leader in Oceania with several world leading manufacturers.
OPTO 22 invented SSRs with Optical Isolation back in the early 1970's. MasTec carries a huge stock of these products.

OPTO 22 is the world leader in so many SSR technologies and they have invested heavily over the years in staying in this position.
You can purchase AC or DC switching SSRs, that are mounted on PCBs, backplanes, heatsinks, cabinets or inside racks for distributed IO or PAC controlled automation systems.
One of the very unique products that OPTO 22 invented that fits well with SSRs, is 230 VAC direct connect level shifting to 5/15/24 VDC for control systems like PLCs, PACs or Distributed IO. This enables engineers to directly connect 230 VAC as use this level for sensing rather than passing through relays and complex expensive interface systems. These isolated devices are essential for PLC input and output protection.
Almost all OPTO 22 SSRs are isolated to 4000 VAC.
Almost all OPTO 22 SSRs have a life time warranty also.

Mastec's Integration and Software Development section - SWS or Smart Works System
MasTec set out 6 years ago to focus entirely on Sales and Marketing.
The sale of SWS is the last step in this process.
The SWS sale includes looking after the hardware and software at several Laboratory sites doing Window and Roof Testing, in Auckland mainly, but also Huntly, Hamilton, New Plymouth, Australia and Malaysia. There is also continuing development of this product. The sale will include any parts that are used in these systems. The software in these systems is also included and inclkudes all source code from the original units in 1991 to the present day.
Also there is a continuing development of Geotechnical Instruments for one Auckland based company. This development work has been running now for 4 - 5 years and will continue into the future for some time yet.
MasTec will also pass to the buyer of SWS, all the Projects MasTec has done over the last 10-15 years on Disk and Notes where available.
Several projects are pending right now, two quite large.
This is good opportunity for a small business to expand its income and customer base.
MasTec would like to use this new business relationship to steer our customers to, for future product and project work.
This means an onward going supply of projects from MasTec to the Buyer.

MasTec requires a contractor or integrator for doing PAC software development work on a casual basis.
The software will in most cases be OPTO 22's PAC software development environment which is well established world wide as one of the easiest to use.
The work may extend into Linux and Windows CE for specific types of PAC systems also using ARM processors.
