Unlike CFL, they contain no mercury or other hazardous substances. This is especially important to consider, because if a CFL is broken, adn the mercury escapes, which it does in all circumstances, the complete working area where the lamp breaks will have to be decontaminated, usually this means, all cracks to be sealed in the floor, wall and ceiling or re covered, all flooring or carpet removed, walls washed and repainted if you are lucky.
