New SSR rangeWe actually stock these now.
OPTO 22 have had Hockey Puck SSRs going back to year dot.
They recently released a version with an RED LED to indicate status, very handy when installing or testing.
All the favourite models are covered.
240 VAC, 10 Amp, DC Control Solid State Relay (SSR) with LED Indicator
240 VAC, 25 Amp, DC Control Solid State Relay (SSR) with LED Indicator

New SNAP TEX Termination and Cable ProductsOPTO 22 has always been famous for its termination. They made connection to filed wiring easy back in the late 70's with their Classic series of backplanes and screw terminal connectors. MasTec still sells loads of this product.
The new SNAP TEX wiring accessories mean faster, easier installation and continues the theme for OPTO 22.
New SNAP TEX cables snap into the tops of I/O modules, protecting wiring from dust and running cleanly in a 6 ft. (1.8 m) cable to color-coded, pre-stripped ends.
New SNAP TEX breakout boards with spring connectors accept SNAP TEX cables and provide options like fusing, bussed power, or mechanical relays that switch up to 10 amps.
Prices are USA list and local pricing will vary according to handling costs.

Why Buy OPTO 22 PACWhy Buy the SNAP PAC System?
Multidomain, multifunction, multitasking. The Opto 22 SNAP PAC does logic, process control, discrete control, motion control, monitoring, and data acquisitionand can do them all at once. You dont have to buy a different controller or add cards. The SNAP PAC is ready when your needs change; it doesnt
become obsolete so fast.Customer comment: Because PACs are multifunction, they can meet control requirements as a
unified system, rather than as a patchwork of products.
Extensive communication options, standard. Built-in communication options make SNAP PACs suitable for remote as well as local monitoring and control.
The SNAP PAC System uses distributed intelligence, not just a distributed architecture. PID loop control, pulse generation, latching, events, and alarms are all processed on distributed brains & I/O. Distributed intelligence leaves the controller free for other tasks and keeps essential processes running if communication fails.
Customer comments: The SNAP PAC System provides intelligence in three tiers: in the controller, the
brain, and almost all I/O modules. This is the main difference between a PLC and a DCS, and the
SNAP PAC System is like a DCS.
Since PLCs do not provide distributed control but rely entirely on centralized control, everything
stops if the system crashes.
32 MB RAM standard in a standalone SNAP PAC and16 MB RAM in a rack-mounted SNAP PAC. These PACs accommodate data storage without need for external cards.
Flexible, scalable architecture. The same Opto 22 PACs are used in small or large systems. To expand the system, just add more distributed processors and I/O. If you change the system, you still use the same hardware and software.
Customer comment: Traditional limitations in PLC design, namely their lack of interoperability and flexibilityeven with other PLCs of the same brandkeep them from meeting system requirementWhy Buy From Opto 22?
- Over 30 years of experience in designing and manufacturing automation systems. Opto 22 originated the red-black-yellow-white I/O module color scheme and developed and published the Optomux protocol. We introduced
our first PAC in 1991.- Well-known product quality. All products are designed and manufactured at their headquarters in Temecula, CA. Every I/O module is individually tested twice. All solid-state modules are guaranteed for life.
- Smaller company with responsive people. Call MasTec or Opto 22 and talk to a real person!
- Free product support, free pre-sales engineering, free training, and free documentation.
- Easy-to-use website with product specifications, photos, videos, documents, downloads, and technical support knowledgebase.
- Philosophy of continued support for legacy systems. Our older systems continue to run, so we support them. For example, the current generation of Ethernet-based PACs can control serial-based mistic systems from 17 years ago, as well as newer Ethernet-based I/O. Another example: Recent E1 and E2 brain boards are drop-in replacements for Optomux B1 and B2 brain boards; they provide both serial and Ethernet Optomux for systems originally built in 1982.
- MasTec has been using OPTO22 internally for 18 years and distributing for 10 years
- In Oceania there are hundreds of thousands of OPTO 22 parts running right now.
OPTO 22 now has a fanatastic expanded Web site for the PAC Series. Have a look, you will be impressed.!!They have been busy:-

New PAC Project 8.1 software
Adds Distributed I/O Features for Ethernet and Serial I/O
PAC Project is the full-featured integrated development environment for the SNAP PAC System. Our new PAC Project version 8.1 adds features for both control programming and HMI development.New PAC Control commands add frequency measurement, period measurement, and analog and digital totalization to the already long list of distributed I/O functions.
New PAC with Four Serial Ports
Combines Ethernet and Serial I/O Systems
Please welcome the newest SNAP PAC controller, the SNAP-PAC-S2.This beefy new PAC has two Ethernet interfaces, and also boasts four serial ports, all configurable for RS-232 or RS-485.
The new SNAP-PAC-S2 makes it easy to combine both Ethernet and serial distributed I/O in the same system. Or you can use the ports for direct connection to serial devices or a modem connection using PPP.
New Brains Offer Serial I/O Option
For those of you who need serial-based I/O, we've got two new SNAP PAC Serial Brains, the SNAP-PAC-SB1 and the SNAP-PAC-SB2.
The SB1 is shown here on a SNAP PAC rack with SNAP I/O analog and digital modules.
Use the new SB-series brains for new installations or for upgrading older serial mistic SNAP I/O units, for example when you need higher density I/O.
New 8-Channel Analog Input Modules
No Breakout Board Required
Three new SNAP analog modules offer eight input points per module. The SNAP-AIV-8 for voltage
The SNAP-AIMA-8 for current
The SNAP-AICTD-8 for temperature

PAC --- Programmable Automation Controller

Programmable Automation Controlleror PACis the new name for a multi-domain, networkable, single-database industrial automation and control system.
A PAC is also perfect for remote monitoring and data acquisition applications, too.
Though often compared to a PLC, a PLC its not.
